Surat al-`Alaq (The Blood-Clot) - ٦٩ - سورة العلق

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists),
পাঠ করুন আপনার পালনকর্তার নামে যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন
خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood)
সৃষ্টি করেছেন মানুষকে জমাট রক্ত থেকে।
اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ
Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,
পাঠ করুন, আপনার পালনকর্তা মহা দয়ালু,
الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ
Who has taught (the writing) by the pen.
যিনি কলমের সাহায্যে শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন,
عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
He has taught man that which he knew not.
শিক্ষা দিয়েছেন মানুষকে যা সে জানত না।
كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ
Nay! Verily, man does transgress (in disbelief and evil deed).
সত্যি সত্যি মানুষ সীমালংঘন করে,
أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ
Because he considers himself self-sufficient.
এ কারণে যে, সে নিজেকে অভাবমুক্ত মনে করে।
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ
Surely! unto your Lord is the return.
নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তার দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তন হবে।
أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ
Have you (O Muhammad (SAW)) seen him (i.e. Abû Jahl) who prevents,
আপনি কি তাকে দেখেছেন, যে নিষেধ করে
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ
A slave (Muhammad (SAW)) when he prays?
এক বান্দাকে যখন সে নামায পড়ে?
أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ
Tell me, if he (Muhammad (SAW)) is on the guidance (of Allâh)
আপনি কি দেখেছেন যদি সে সৎপথে থাকে।
أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
Tell me if he (Abû Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Qur'ân), and turns away?
আপনি কি দেখেছেন, যদি সে মিথ্যারোপ করে ও মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়।
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
Knows he not that Allâh does see (what he does)?
সে কি জানে না যে, আল্লাহ দেখেন?
كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ
Nay! If he (Abû Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock —
কখনই নয়, যদি সে বিরত না হয়, তবে আমি মস্তকের সামনের কেশগুচ্ছ ধরে হেঁচড়াবই-
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ
Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers),
অতএব, সে তার সভাসদদেরকে আহবান করুক।
سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ
We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)!
আমিও আহবান করব জাহান্নামের প্রহরীদেরকে
