Surat al-A`la (The Most High) - ٧٨ - سورة الأعلى

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,
আপনি আপনার মহান পালনকর্তার নামের পবিত্রতা বর্ণনা করুন
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it;
যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন ও সুবিন্যস্ত করেছেন।
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
And Who has measured (preordainments for everything even to be blessed or wretched); and then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture);
এবং যিনি সুপরিমিত করেছেন ও পথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ
And Who brings out the pasturage,
এবং যিনি তৃণাদি উৎপন্ন করেছেন,
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ
And then makes it dark stubble
অতঃপর করেছেন তাকে কাল আবর্জনা।
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ
We shall make you to recite (the Qur'ân), so you (O Muhammad (SAW)) shall not forget (it),
আমি আপনাকে পাঠ করাতে থাকব, ফলে আপনি বিস্মৃত হবেন না
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ
Except what Allâh, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden.
আল্লাহ যা ইচ্ছা করেন তা ব্যতীত। নিশ্চয় তিনি জানেন প্রকাশ্য ও গোপন বিষয়।
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (SAW)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds).
আমি আপনার জন্যে সহজ শরীয়ত সহজতর করে দেবো।
فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ
Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them)
উপদেশ ফলপ্রসূ হলে উপদেশ দান করুন,
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ
The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allâh),
যে ভয় করে, সে উপদেশ গ্রহণ করবে,
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
But it will be avoided by the wretched,
আর যে, হতভাগা, সে তা উপেক্ষা করবে,
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ
Who will enter the great Fire (and whill be made to taste its burning).
সে মহা-অগ্নিতে প্রবেশ করবে।
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).
অতঃপর সেখানে সে মরবেও না, জীবিতও থাকবে না।
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ
Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success,
নিশ্চয় সাফল্য লাভ করবে সে, যে শুদ্ধ হয়
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ
And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil — additional prayers).
এবং তার পালনকর্তার নাম স্মরণ করে, অতঃপর নামায আদায় করে।
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
Nay, you prefer the life of this world,
বস্তুতঃ তোমরা পার্থিব জীবনকে অগ্রাধিকার দাও,
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ
Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
অথচ পরকালের জীবন উৎকৃষ্ট ও স্থায়ী।
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ
Verily, this is in the former Scriptures —
এটা লিখিত রয়েছে পূর্ববতী কিতাবসমূহে;
