Surat al-Takwir (The Darkening) - ١٨ - سورة التكوير

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
When the sun is wound round and lost its light (is lost and is overthrown).
যখন সূর্য আলোহীন হয়ে যাবে,
وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
And when the mountains are made to pass away;
যখন পর্বতমালা অপসারিত হবে,
وَإِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
And when the pregnant she-camels are be neglected;
যখন দশ মাসের গর্ভবতী উষ্ট্রীসমূহ উপেক্ষিত হবে;
وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
And when the wild beasts are gathered together;
যখন বন্য পশুরা একত্রিত হয়ে যাবে,
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
And when the seas become as blazing Fire or overflow;
যখন সমুদ্রকে উত্তাল করে তোলা হবে,
وَإِذَا النُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
And when the souls are joined with their bodies (the good with the good and bad with the bad).
যখন আত্মাসমূহকে যুগল করা হবে,
وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ
And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) is questioned.
যখন জীবন্ত প্রোথিত কন্যাকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হবে,
وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
And when the (written) pages [of deeds (good and bad) of every person] are laid open;
যখন আমলনামা খোলা হবে,
وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ كُشِطَتْ
And when the heaven is stripped off and taken away from its place;
যখন আকাশের আবরণ অপসারিত হবে,
وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
And when Hell-fire is set ablaze.
যখন জাহান্নামের অগ্নি প্রজ্বলিত করা হবে
وَإِذَا الْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
And when Paradise is brought near,
এবং যখন জান্নাত সন্নিকটবর্তী হবে,
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا أَحْضَرَتْ
(Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil).
তখন প্রত্যেকেই জেনে নিবে সে কি উপস্থিত করেছে।
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ
So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night).
আমি শপথ করি যেসব নক্ষত্রগুলো পশ্চাতে সরে যায়।
الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ
And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves,
চলমান হয় ও অদৃশ্য হয়,
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
Verily, this is the Word (this Qur'ân brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrail (Gabriel), from Allâh to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)]
নিশ্চয় কোরআন সম্মানিত রসূলের আনীত বাণী,
ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
Owner of power, (and high rank) with (Allâh) the Lord of the Throne,
যিনি শক্তিশালী, আরশের মালিকের নিকট মর্যাদাশালী,
مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
Obeyed (by the angels in the heavens) and trustworthy.
সবার মান্যবর, সেখানকার বিশ্বাসভাজন।
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ
And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (SAW)) is not a madman;
এবং তোমাদের সাথী পাগল নন।
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ
And indeed he (Muhammad (SAW)) saw him [Jibril (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east)
তিনি সেই ফেরেশতাকে প্রকাশ্য দিগন্তে দেখেছেন।
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
And he (Muhammad (SAW)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen.
তিনি অদৃশ্য বিষয় বলতে কৃপনতা করেন না।
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ
And it (the Qur'ân) is not the word of the outcast Shaitân (Satan).
এটা বিতাড়িত শয়তানের উক্তি নয়।
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Verily, this (the Qur'ân) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinn).
এটা তো কেবল বিশ্বাবাসীদের জন্যে উপদেশ,
لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيمَ
To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight,
তার জন্যে, যে তোমাদের মধ্যে সোজা চলতে চায়।
