بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَالَمِينَ نَذِيرًا
Blessed is He Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Qur'ân) to His slave (Muhammad SAW) that he may be a warner to the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinn).
পরম কল্যাণময় তিনি যিনি তাঁর বান্দার প্রতি ফয়সালার গ্রন্থ অবর্তীণ করেছেন, যাতে সে বিশ্বজগতের জন্যে সতর্ককারী হয়,।
الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا
He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements
তিনি হলেন যাঁর রয়েছে নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের রাজত্ব। তিনি কোন সন্তান গ্রহণ করেননি। রাজত্বে তাঁর কোন অংশীদার নেই। তিনি প্রত্যেক বস্তু সৃষ্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর তাকে শোধিত করেছেন পরিমিতভাবে।
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا
Yet they have taken besides Him other âlihâh (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead.
তারা তাঁর পরিবর্তে কত উপাস্য গ্রহণ করেছে, যারা কিছুই সৃষ্টি করে না এবং তারা নিজেরাই সৃষ্ট এবং নিজেদের ভালও করতে পারে না, মন্দও করতে পারে না এবং জীবন, মরণ ও পুনরুজ্জীবনের ও তারা মালিক নয়।
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ افْتَرَاهُ وَأَعَانَهُ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ آخَرُونَ ۖ فَقَدْ جَاءُوا ظُلْمًا وَزُورًا
Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Qur'ân) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad SAW) has invented, and others have helped him at it, infact they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie."
কাফেররা বলে, এটা মিথ্যা বৈ নয়, যা তিনি উদ্ভাবন করেছেন এবং অন্য লোকেরা তাঁকে সাহায্য করেছে। অবশ্যই তারা অবিচার ও মিথ্যার আশ্রয় নিয়েছে।
وَقَالُوا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
তারা বলে, এগুলো তো পুরাকালের রূপকথা, যা তিনি লিখে রেখেছেন। এগুলো সকাল-সন্ধ্যায় তাঁর কাছে শেখানো হয়।
قُلْ أَنْزَلَهُ الَّذِي يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا
Say: "It (this Qur'ân) has been sent down by Him (Allâh) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
বলুন, একে তিনিই অবতীর্ণ করেছেন, যিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের গোপন রহস্য অবগত আছেন। তিনি ক্ষমাশীল, মেহেরবান।
وَقَالُوا مَالِ هَٰذَا الرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا
And they say: "Why does this Messenger (Muhammad SAW) eat food, and walk about in the markets (as we). Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him?
তারা বলে, এ কেমন রসূল যে, খাদ্য আহার করে এবং হাটে-বাজারে চলাফেরা করে? তাঁর কাছে কেন কোন ফেরেশতা নাযিল করা হল না যে, তাঁর সাথে সতর্ককারী হয়ে থাকত?
أَوْ يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُ جَنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَقَالَ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنْ تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَسْحُورًا
"Or (why) has not a treasure been granted to him, or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?" And the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) say: "You follow none but a man bewitched."
অথবা তিনি ধন-ভান্ডার প্রাপ্ত হলেন না কেন, অথবা তাঁর একটি বাগান হল না কেন, যা থেকে তিনি আহার করতেন? জালেমরা বলে, তোমরা তো একজন জাদুগ্রস্ত ব্যক্তিরই অনুসরণ করছ।
انْظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا لَكَ الْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا
See how they coin similitudes for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path
দেখুন, তারা আপনার কেমন দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করে! অতএব তারা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে, এখন তারা পথ পেতে পারে না।
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي إِنْ شَاءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيْرًا مِنْ ذَٰلِكَ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكَ قُصُورًا
Blessed is He Who, if He wills, will assign you better than (all) that, - Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) and will assign you palaces (i.e. in Paradise).
কল্যানময় তিনি, যিনি ইচ্ছা করলে আপনাকে তদপেক্ষা উত্তম বস্তু দিতে পারেন-বাগ-বাগিচা, যার তলদেশে নহর প্রবাহিত হয় এবং দিতে পারেন আপনাকে প্রাসাদসমূহ।
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالسَّاعَةِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَنْ كَذَّبَ بِالسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا
Nay, they deny the Hour (the Day of Resurrection), and for those who deny the Hour, We have prepared a flaming Fire (i.e. Hell).
বরং তারা কেয়ামতকে অস্বীকার করে এবং যে কেয়ামতকে অস্বীকার করে, আমি তার জন্যে অগ্নি প্রস্তুত করেছি।
إِذَا رَأَتْهُمْ مِنْ مَكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا
When it (Hell) sees them from a far place, they will hear its raging and its roaring.
অগ্নি যখন দূর থেকে তাদেরকে দেখবে, তখন তারা শুনতে পাবে তার গর্জন ও হুঙ্কার।
وَإِذَا أُلْقُوا مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا
And when they shall be thrown into a narrow place thereof, chained together, they will exclaim therein for destruction.
যখন এক শিকলে কয়েকজন বাঁধা অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের কোন সংকীর্ণ স্থানে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে, তখন সেখানে তারা মৃত্যুকে ডাকবে।
لَا تَدْعُوا الْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَاحِدًا وَادْعُوا ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا
Exclaim not today for one destruction, but exclaim for many destructions.
বলা হবে, আজ তোমরা এক মৃত্যুকে ডেকো না অনেক মৃত্যুকে ডাক।
قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَمَصِيرًا
Say: (O Muhammad SAW) "Is that (torment) better or the Paradise of Eternity which is promised to the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2)?" It will be theirs as a reward and as a final destination.
বলুন এটা উত্তম, না চিরকাল বসবাসের জান্নাত, যার সুসংবাদ দেয়া হয়েছে মুত্তাকীদেরকে? সেটা হবে তাদের প্রতিদান ও প্রত্যাবর্তন স্থান।
لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ خَالِدِينَ ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَسْئُولًا
For them there will be therein all that they desire, and they will abide (there forever). It is a promise binding upon your Lord that must be fulfilled.
তারা চিরকাল বসবাসরত অবস্থায় সেখানে যা চাইবে, তাই পাবে। এই প্রার্থিত ওয়াদা পূরণ আপনার পালনকর্তার দায়িত্ব।
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ أَأَنْتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِي هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا السَّبِيلَ
And on the Day when He will gather them together and that which they worship besides Allâh [idols, angels, pious men, saints, 'Īsā (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), etc.]. He will say: "Was it you who misled these My slaves or did they (themselves) stray from the (Right) Path?"
সেদিন আল্লাহ একত্রিত করবেন তাদেরকে এবং তারা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদের এবাদত করত তাদেরকে, সেদিন তিনি উপাস্যদেরকে বলবেন, তোমরাই কি আমার এই বান্দাদেরকে পথভ্রান্ত করেছিলে, না তারা নিজেরাই পথভ্রান্ত হয়েছিল?
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ مِنْ دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَٰكِنْ مَتَّعْتَهُمْ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا الذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا بُورًا
They will say: "Glorified are You! It was not for us to take any Auliyâ' (Protectors, Helpers) besides You, but You gave them and their fathers comfort till they forgot the warning, and became a lost people (doomed to total loss).
তারা বলবে-আপনি পবিত্র, আমরা আপনার পরিবর্তে অন্যকে মুরুব্বীরূপে গ্রহণ করতে পারতাম না; কিন্তু আপনিই তো তাদেরকে এবং তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে ভোগসম্ভার দিয়েছিলেন, ফলে তারা আপনার স্মৃতি বিস্মৃত হয়েছিল এবং তারা ছিল ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত জাতি।
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوكُمْ بِمَا تَقُولُونَ فَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَ صَرْفًا وَلَا نَصْرًا ۚ وَمَنْ يَظْلِمْ مِنْكُمْ نُذِقْهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيرًا
Thus they (false gods— all deities other than Allâh) will belie you (polytheists) regarding what you say (that they are gods besides Allâh), then you can neither avert (the punishment), nor get help. And whoever among you does wrong (i.e. sets up rivals to Allâh), We shall make him taste a great torment.
আল্লাহ মুশরিকদেরকে বলবেন, তোমাদের কথা তো তারা মিথ্যা সাব্যস্ত করল, এখন তোমরা শাস্তি প্রতিরোধ করতে পারবে না এবং সাহায্যও করতে পারবে না। তোমাদের মধ্যে যে গোনাহগার আমি তাকে গুরুতর শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাব।
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا
And We never sent before you (O Muhammad SAW) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything).
আপনার পূর্বে যত রসূল প্রেরণ করেছি, তারা সবাই খাদ্য গ্রহণ করত এবং হাটে-বাজারে চলাফেরা করত। আমি তোমাদের এককে অপরের জন্যে পরীক্ষাস্বরূপ করেছি। দেখি, তোমরা সবর কর কিনা। আপনার পালনকর্তা সব কিছু দেখেন।
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَاءَنَا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَوْ نَرَىٰ رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ اسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْا عُتُوًّا كَبِيرًا
And those who expect not a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), said: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride.
যারা আমার সাক্ষাৎ আশা করে না, তারা বলে, আমাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা অবতীর্ণ করা হল না কেন? অথবা আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তাকে দেখি না কেন? তারা নিজেদের অন্তরে অহংকার পোষণ করে এবং গুরুতর অবাধ্যতায় মেতে উঠেছে।
يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَا بُشْرَىٰ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ وَيَقُولُونَ حِجْرًا مَحْجُورًا
On the Day they will see the angels,— no glad tidings will there be for the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) that day. And they (angels) will say: "All kinds of glad tidings are forbidden to you," [none will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who said: Lâ ilâha ill-allâh, "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) and acted practically on its legal orders and obligations. [See the foot note of v.2:193]
যেদিন তারা ফেরেশতাদেরকে দেখবে, সেদিন অপরাধীদের জন্যে কোন সুসংবাদ থাকবে না এবং তারা বলবে, কোন বাধা যদি তা আটকে রাখত।
وَقَدِمْنَا إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَاءً مَنْثُورًا
And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.
আমি তাদের কৃতকর্মের প্রতি মনোনিবেশ করব, অতঃপর সেগুলোকে বিক্ষিপ্ত ধুলিকণারূপে করে দেব।
أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَيْرٌ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَأَحْسَنُ مَقِيلًا
The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Islamic Monotheistic Faith and their deed of righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose.
সেদিন জান্নাতীদের বাসস্থান হবে উত্তম এবং বিশ্রামস্থল হবে মনোরম।
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَاءُ بِالْغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تَنْزِيلًا
And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending.
সেদিন আকাশ মেঘমালাসহ বিদীর্ণ হবে এবং সেদিন ফেরেশতাদের নামিয়ে দেয়া হবে,
الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ عَسِيرًا
The sovereignty on that Day will be the true (sovereignty), belonging to the Most Gracious (Allâh), and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers (those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism).
সেদিন সত্যিকার রাজত্ব হবে দয়াময় আল্লাহর এবং কাফেরদের পক্ষে দিনটি হবে কঠিন।
وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًا
And (remember) the Day when the Zâlim (wrong-doer, oppressor, polytheist) will bite at his hands, he will say: "Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger ( Muhammad SAW).
জালেম সেদিন আপন হস্তদ্বয় দংশন করতে করতে বলবে, হায় আফসোস! আমি যদি রসূলের সাথে পথ অবলম্বন করতাম।
يَا وَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًا
"Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a Khalil (an intimate friend)!
হায় আমার দূর্ভাগ্য, আমি যদি অমুককে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ না করতাম।
لَقَدْ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَنِي ۗ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِلْإِنْسَانِ خَذُولًا
"He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur'ân) after it had come to me. And Shaitân (Satan) is to man ever a deserter in the hour of need." (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)
আমার কাছে উপদেশ আসার পর সে আমাকে তা থেকে বিভ্রান্ত করেছিল। শয়তান মানুষকে বিপদকালে ধোঁকা দেয়।
وَقَالَ الرَّسُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا
And the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'ân (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and teachings).
রসূল বললেনঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমার সম্প্রদায় এই কোরআনকে প্রলাপ সাব্যস্ত করেছে।
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَنَصِيرًا
Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimûn (disbelievers, polytheists, criminals). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.
এমনিভাবে প্রত্যেক নবীর জন্যে আমি অপরাধীদের মধ্য থেকে শত্রু করেছি। আপনার জন্যে আপনার পালনকর্তা পথপ্রদর্শক ও সাহায্যকারীরূপে যথেষ্ট।
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ جُمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِ فُؤَادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلْنَاهُ تَرْتِيلًا
And those who disbelieve say: "Why is not the Qur'ân revealed to him all at once?" Thus (it is sent down in parts), that We may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages. (It was revealed to the Prophet SAW in 23 years.).
সত্য প্রত্যাখানকারীরা বলে, তাঁর প্রতি সমগ্র কোরআন একদফায় অবতীর্ণ হল না কেন? আমি এমনিভাবে অবতীর্ণ করেছি এবং ক্রমে ক্রমে আবৃত্তি করেছি আপনার অন্তকরণকে মজবুত করার জন্যে।
وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا
And no example or similitude do they bring (to oppose or to find fault in you or in this Qur'ân), but We reveal to you the truth (against that similitude or example), and the better explanation thereof.
তারা আপনার কাছে কোন সমস্যা উপস্থাপিত করলেই আমি আপনাকে তার সঠিক জওয়াব ও সুন্দর ব্যাখ্যা দান করি।
الَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُولَٰئِكَ شَرٌّ مَكَانًا وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces, such will be in an evil state, and most astray from the (Straight) Path.
যাদেরকে মুখ থুবড়ে পড়ে থাকা অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের দিকে একত্রিত করা হবে, তাদেরই স্থান হবে নিকৃষ্ট এবং তারাই পথভ্রষ্ট।
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُ أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ وَزِيرًا
And indeed We gave Mûsa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)], and placed his brother Hârûn (Aaron) with him as a helper;
আমি তো মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছি এবং তাঁর সাথে তাঁর ভ্রাতা হারুনকে সাহায্যকারী করেছি।
فَقُلْنَا اذْهَبَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَاهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا
And We said: "Go you both to the people who have denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)." Then We destroyed them with utter destruction
অতঃপর আমি বলেছি, তোমরা সেই সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে যাও, যারা আমার আয়াতসমূহকে মিথ্যা অভিহিত করেছে। অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে সমূলে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি।
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ لَمَّا كَذَّبُوا الرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ آيَةً ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
And Nûh's (Noah) people, when they denied the Messengers We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).
নূহের সম্প্রদায় যখন রসূলগণের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করল, তখন আমি তাদেরকে নিমজ্জত করলাম এবং তাদেরকে মানবমন্ডলীর জন্যে নিদর্শন করে দিলাম। জালেমদের জন্যে আমি যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছি।
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَأَصْحَابَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا
And (also) 'Ad and Thamûd, and the Dwellers of Ar-Rass, and many generations in between.
আমি ধ্বংস করেছি আদ, সামুদ, কপবাসী এবং তাদের মধ্যবর্তী অনেক সম্প্রদায়কে।
وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ الْأَمْثَالَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا
And for each (of them) We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons), and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds).
আমি প্রত্যেকের জন্যেই দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছি এবং প্রত্যেককেই সম্পুর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করেছি।
وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا عَلَى الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ السَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا
And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lut (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay ! But they used not to expect any resurrection.
তারা তো সেই জনপদের উপর দিয়েই যাতায়াত করে, যার ওপর বর্ষিত হয়েছে মন্দ বৃষ্টি। তবে কি তারা তা প্রত্যক্ষ করে না? বরং তারা পুনরুজ্জীবনের আশঙ্কা করে না।
وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِنْ يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ رَسُولًا
And when they see you (O Muhammad SAW), they treat you only in mockery (saying):"Is this the one whom Allâh has sent as a Messenger?
তারা যখন আপনাকে দেখে, তখন আপনাকে কেবল বিদ্রুপের পাত্ররূপে গ্রহণ করে, বলে, এ-ই কি সে যাকে আল্লাহ 'রসূল' করে প্রেরণ করেছেন?
إِنْ كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا لَوْلَا أَنْ صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ الْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
"He would have nearly misled us from our âlihah (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!" And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path!
সে তো আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্যগণের কাছ থেকে সরিয়েই দিত, যদি আমরা তাদেরকে আঁকড়ে ধরে না থাকতাম। তারা যখন শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, তখন জানতে পারবে কে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট।
أَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُ هَوَاهُ أَفَأَنْتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا
Have you (O Muhammad SAW) seen him who has taken as his ilâh (god) his own vain desire? Would you then be a Wakîl (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?
আপনি কি তাকে দেখেন না, যে তারা প্রবৃত্তিকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করে? তবুও কি আপনি তার যিম্মাদার হবেন?
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَالْأَنْعَامِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; nay,— they are even farther astray from the Path. (i.e. even worst than cattle).
আপনি কি মনে করেন যে, তাদের অধিকাংশ শোনে অথবা বোঝে ? তারা তো চতুস্পদ জন্তুর মত; বরং আরও পথভ্রান্ত
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ الظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَاءَ لَجَعَلَهُ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا الشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا
Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it — still — But We have made the sun its guide [i.e. after the sunrise, the shadow shrinks and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sunlight, there would have been no shadow]
তুমি কি তোমার পালনকর্তাকে দেখ না, তিনি কিভাবে ছায়াকে বিলম্বিত করেন? তিনি ইচ্ছা করলে একে স্থির রাখতে পারতেন। এরপর আমি সূর্যকে করেছি এর নির্দেশক।
ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَاهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا
Then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal.
অতঃপর আমি একে নিজের দিকে ধীরে ধীরে গুটিয়ে আনি।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَالنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا وَجَعَلَ النَّهَارَ نُشُورًا
And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) a repose, and makes the day Nushûr (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, after one's sleep at night or like resurrection after one's death).
তিনিই তো তোমাদের জন্যে রাত্রিকে করেছেন আবরণ, নিদ্রাকে বিশ্রাম এবং দিনকে করেছেন বাইরে গমনের জন্যে।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً طَهُورًا
And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky.
তিনিই স্বীয় রহমতের প্রাক্কালে বাতাসকে সুসংবাদবাহীরূপে প্রেরণ করেন। এবং আমি আকাশ থেকে পবিত্রতা অর্জনের জন্যে পানি বর্ষণ করি।
لِنُحْيِيَ بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتًا وَنُسْقِيَهُ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَا أَنْعَامًا وَأَنَاسِيَّ كَثِيرًا
That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created.
তদ্দ্বারা মৃত ভূভাগকে সঞ্জীবিত করার জন্যে এবং আমার সৃষ্ট জীবজন্তু ও অনেক মানুষের তৃষ্ণা নিবারণের জন্যে।
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَاهُ بَيْنَهُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا فَأَبَىٰ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًا
And indeed We have distributed it (rain or water) amongst them in order that they may remember (the Grace of Allâh), but most men (refuse to accept the Truth or Faith and) accept nothing but disbelief or ingratitude.
এবং আমি তা তাদের মধ্যে বিভিন্নভাবে বিতরণ করি, যাতে তারা স্মরণ করে। কিন্তু অধিকাংশ লোক অকৃতজ্ঞতা ছাড়া কিছুই করে না।
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَبَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ نَذِيرًا
And had We willed, We would have raised a warner in every town.
আমি ইচ্ছা করলে প্রত্যেক জনপদে একজন ভয় প্রদর্শনকারী প্রেরণ করতে পারতাম।
فَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَجَاهِدْهُمْ بِهِ جِهَادًا كَبِيرًا
So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them (by preaching) with the utmost endeavour, with it (the Qur'ân).
অতএব আপনি কাফেরদের আনুগত্য করবেন না এবং তাদের সাথে এর সাহায্যে কঠোর সংগ্রাম করুন।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ هَٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَهَٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًا وَحِجْرًا مَحْجُورًا
And it is He Who has let free the two seas (kinds of water), one palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter, and He has set a barrier and a complete partition between them.
তিনিই সমান্তরালে দুই সমুদ্র প্রবাহিত করেছেন, এটি মিষ্ট, তৃষ্ণা নিবারক ও এটি লোনা, বিস্বাদ; উভয়ের মাঝখানে রেখেছেন একটি অন্তরায়, একটি দুর্ভেদ্য আড়াল।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ بَشَرًا فَجَعَلَهُ نَسَبًا وَصِهْرًا ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًا
And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He wills.
তিনিই পানি থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন মানবকে, অতঃপর তাকে রক্তগত, বংশ ও বৈবাহিক সম্পর্কশীল করেছেন। তোমার পালনকর্তা সবকিছু করতে সক্ষম।
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ ۗ وَكَانَ الْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِ ظَهِيرًا
And they (disbelievers, polytheists) worship besides Allâh, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord.
তারা এবাদত করে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন কিছুর, যা তাদের উপকার করতে পারে না এবং ক্ষতিও করতে পারে না। কাফের তো তার পালনকর্তার প্রতি পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শনকারী।
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا
And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW ) only as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner.
আমি আপনাকে সুসংবাদ ও সতর্ককারীরূপেই প্রেরণ করেছি।
قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا
Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (that which I have brought from my Lord and its preaching), save that whosoever wills, may take a Path to his Lord.
বলুন, আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর কোন বিনিময় চাই না, কিন্তু যে ইচ্ছা করে, সে তার পালনকর্তার পথ অবলম্বন করুক।
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْحَيِّ الَّذِي لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا
And put your trust (O Muhammad SAW) in the Ever Living One Who dies not, and glorify His Praises, and Sufficient is He as the All-Knower of the sins of His slaves;
আপনি সেই চিরঞ্জীবের উপর ভরসা করুন, যার মৃত্যু নেই এবং তাঁর প্রশংসাসহ পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করুন। তিনি বান্দার গোনাহ সম্পর্কে যথেষ্ট খবরদার।
الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۚ الرَّحْمَٰنُ فَاسْأَلْ بِهِ خَبِيرًا
Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days. Then He rose over (Istawâ) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). The Most Gracious (Allâh)! Ask Him (O Prophet Muhammad SAW, concerning His Qualities, His rising over His Throne, His creations, etc.), as He is Al-Khabîr (The All-Knower of everything i.e. Allâh).
তিনি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের অন্তর্বর্তী সবকিছু ছয়দিনে সৃস্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর আরশে সমাসীন হয়েছেন। তিনি পরম দয়াময়। তাঁর সম্পর্কে যিনি অবগত, তাকে জিজ্ঞেস কর।
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اسْجُدُوا لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ قَالُوا وَمَا الرَّحْمَٰنُ أَنَسْجُدُ لِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًا ۩
And when it is said to them: "Prostrate yourserves to the Most Gracious (Allâh)! they say: "And what is the Most Gracious? Shall we fall down in prostration to that which you (O Muhammad SAW) command us?" And it increases in them only aversion.
তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, দয়াময়কে সেজদা কর, তখন তারা বলে, দয়াময় আবার কে? তুমি কাউকে সেজদা করার আদেশ করলেই কি আমরা সেজদা করব? এতে তাদের পলায়নপরতাই বৃদ্ধি পায়।
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَاجًا وَقَمَرًا مُنِيرًا
Blessed is He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light.
কল্যাণময় তিনি, যিনি নভোমন্ডলে রাশিচক্র সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তাতে রেখেছেন সূর্য ও দীপ্তিময় চন্দ্র।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًا
And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude.
যারা অনুসন্ধানপ্রিয় অথবা যারা কৃতজ্ঞতাপ্রিয় তাদের জন্যে তিনি রাত্রি ও দিবস সৃষ্টি করেছেন পরিবর্তনশীলরূপে।
وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلَامًا
And the (faithful) slaves of the Most Gracious (Allâh) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness.
রহমান-এর বান্দা তারাই, যারা পৃথিবীতে নম্রভাবে চলাফেরা করে এবং তাদের সাথে যখন মুর্খরা কথা বলতে থাকে, তখন তারা বলে, সালাম।
وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا
And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrate and standing
এবং যারা রাত্রি যাপন করে পালনকর্তার উদ্দেশ্যে সেজদাবনত হয়ে ও দন্ডায়মান হয়ে;
وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily! Its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment."
এবং যারা বলে, হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাদের কাছথেকে জাহান্নামের শাস্তি হটিয়ে দাও। নিশ্চয় এর শাস্তি নিশ্চিত বিনাশ;
إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا
Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to rest in.
বসবাস ও অবস্থানস্থল হিসেবে তা কত নিকৃষ্ট জায়গা।
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنْفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًا
And those, who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes).
এবং তারা যখন ব্যয় করে, তখন অযথা ব্যয় করে না কৃপণতাও করে না এবং তাদের পন্থা হয় এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী।
وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ ۚ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا
And those who invoke not any other ilâh (god) along with Allâh, nor kill such person as Allâh has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse - and whoever does this shall receive the punishment
এবং যারা আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য উপাস্যের এবাদত করে না, আল্লাহ যার হত্যা অবৈধ করেছেন, সঙ্গত কারণ ব্যতীত তাকে হত্যা করে না এবং ব্যভিচার করে না। যারা একাজ করে, তারা শাস্তির সম্মুখীন হবে।
يُضَاعَفْ لَهُ الْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِ مُهَانًا
The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;
কেয়ামতের দিন তাদের শাস্তি দ্বিগুন হবে এবং তথায় লাঞ্ছিত অবস্থায় চিরকাল বসবাস করবে।
إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ حَسَنَاتٍ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا
Except those who repent and believe (in Islâmic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allâh will change their sins into good deeds, and Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful
কিন্তু যারা তওবা করে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং সৎকর্ম করে, আল্লাহ তাদের গোনাহকে পুন্য দ্বারা পরিবর্তত করে এবং দেবেন। আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
وَمَنْ تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَإِنَّهُ يَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَتَابًا
And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds, then verily, he repents towards Allâh with true repentance.
যে তওবা করে ও সৎকর্ম করে, সে ফিরে আসার স্থান আল্লাহর দিকে ফিরে আসে।
وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِاللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا كِرَامًا
And those who do not witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.
এবং যারা মিথ্যা কাজে যোগদান করে না এবং যখন অসার ক্রিয়াকর্মের সম্মুখীন হয়, তখন মান রক্ষার্থে ভদ্রভাবে চলে যায়।
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَمْ يَخِرُّوا عَلَيْهَا صُمًّا وَعُمْيَانًا
And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.
এবং যাদেরকে তাদের পালনকর্তার আয়াতসমূহ বোঝানো হলে তাতে অন্ধ ও বধির সদৃশ আচরণ করে না।
وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqûn" (pious - see V.2:2)."
এবং যারা বলে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদের স্ত্রীদের পক্ষ থেকে এবং আমাদের সন্তানের পক্ষ থেকে আমাদের জন্যে চোখের শীতলতা দান কর এবং আমাদেরকে মুত্তাকীদের জন্যে আদর্শস্বরূপ কর।
أُولَٰئِكَ يُجْزَوْنَ الْغُرْفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَيُلَقَّوْنَ فِيهَا تَحِيَّةً وَسَلَامًا
Those will be rewarded with the highest place (in Paradise) because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect.
তাদেরকে তাদের সবরের প্রতিদানে জান্নাতে কক্ষ দেয়া হবে এবং তাদেরকে তথায় দোয়া ও সালাম সহকারে অভ্যর্থনা করা হবে।
خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ حَسُنَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا
Abiding therein;— excellent it is as an abode, and as a place to dwell.
তথায় তারা চিরকাল বসবাস করবে। অবস্থানস্থল ও বাসস্থান হিসেবে তা কত উত্তম।
قُلْ مَا يَعْبَأُ بِكُمْ رَبِّي لَوْلَا دُعَاؤُكُمْ ۖ فَقَدْ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًا
Say (O Muhammad SAW to the disbelievers): "My Lord pays attention to you only because of your invocation to Him. But now you have indeed denied (Him). So the torment will be yours for ever (inseparable permanent punishment)."
বলুন, আমার পালনকর্তা পরওয়া করেন না যদি তোমরা তাঁকে না ডাক। তোমরা মিথ্যা বলেছ। অতএব সত্বর নেমে আসবে অনিবার্য শাস্তি।
