بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُعْرِضُونَ
Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.
মানুষের হিসাব-কিতাবের সময় নিকটবর্তী; অথচ তারা বেখবর হয়ে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছে।
مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Qur'ân) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play,
তাদের কাছে তাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে যখনই কোন নতুন উপদেশ আসে, তারা তা খেলার ছলে শ্রবণ করে।
لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا هَلْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
With their hearts occupied (with evil things) Those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?"
তাদের অন্তর থাকে খেলায় মত্ত। জালেমরা গোপনে পরামর্শ করে, সে তো তোমাদেরই মত একজন মানুষ; এমতাবস্থায় দেখে শুনে তোমরা তার যাদুর কবলে কেন পড়?
قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower."
পয়গম্বর বললেনঃ নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলের কথাই আমার পালনকর্তা জানেন। তিনি সবকিছু শোনেন, সবকিছু জানেন।
بَلْ قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الْأَوَّلُونَ
Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Qur'ân which are revealed to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented them! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayâh (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) the former were sent before (with)!"
এছাড়া তারা আরও বলেঃ অলীক স্বপ্ন; না সে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করেছে, না সে একজন কবি। অতএব সে আমাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন আনয়ন করুক, যেমন নিদর্শন সহ আগমন করেছিলেন পূর্ববর্তীগন।
مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Not one of the towns (populations), of those which We destroyed, believed before them (though We sent them signs), will they then believe?
তাদের পূর্বে যেসব জনপদ আমি ধবংস করে দিয়েছি, তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেনি; এখন এরা কি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে?
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We revealed, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know.
আপনার পূর্বে আমি মানুষই প্রেরণ করেছি, যাদের কাছে আমি ওহী পাঠাতাম। অতএব তোমরা যদি না জান তবে যারা স্মরণ রাখে তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস কর।
وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ
And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals,
আমি তাদেরকে এমন দেহ বিশিষ্ট করিনি যে, তারা খাদ্য ভক্ষণ করত না এবং তারা চিরস্থায়ীও ছিল না।
ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَنْ نَشَاءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِينَ
Then We fulfilled to them the promise, so We saved them and those whom We willed, but We destroyed Al-Musrifûn (i.e. disbelivers in Allah, in His Messengers, extravagants transgressors of Allah's limits by committing crimes, oppression, polytheism and sins).
অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকে দেয়া আমার প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করলাম সুতরাং তাদেরকে এবং যাদেরকে ইচ্ছা বাঁচিয়ে দিলাম এবং ধবংস করে ছিলাম সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীদেরকে।
لَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Indeed, We have sent down for you (O mankind) a Book, (the Qur'ân) in which there is Dhikrukum, (your Reminder or an honour for you i.e. honour for the one who follows the teaching of the Qur'ân and acts on its teachings). Will you not then understand?
আমি তোমাদের প্রতি একটি কিতাব অবর্তীর্ণ করেছি; এতে তোমাদের জন্যে উপদেশ রয়েছে। তোমরা কি বোঝ না?
وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنْشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ
How many a town (community), given to wrong-doing, have We destroyed, and raised up after them another people!
আমি কত জনপদের ধ্বংস সাধন করেছি যার অধিবাসীরা ছিল পাপী এবং তাদের পর সৃষ্টি করেছি অন্য জাতি।
فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُمْ مِنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
Then, when they perceived (saw) Our Torment (coming), behold, they (tried to) flee from it.
অতঃপর যখন তারা আমার আযাবের কথা টের পেল, তখনই তারা সেখান থেকে পলায়ন করতে লাগল।
لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ
Flee not, but return to that wherein you lived a luxurious life, and to your homes, in order that you may be questioned.
পলায়ন করো না এবং ফিরে এস, যেখানে তোমরা বিলাসিতায় মত্ত ছিলে ও তোমাদের আবাসগৃহে; সম্ভবত; কেউ তোমাদের জিজ্ঞেস করবে।
قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
They cried: "Woe to us! Certainly! We have been Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh)."
তারা বললঃ হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের, আমরা অবশ্যই পাপী ছিলাম।
فَمَا زَالَتْ تِلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ
And that cry of theirs ceased not, till We made them as a field that is reaped, extinct (dead).
তাদের এই আর্তনাদ সব সময় ছিল, শেষ পর্যন্ত আমি তাদেরকে করে দিলাম যেন কর্তিত শস্য ও নির্বাপিত অগ্নি।
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ
We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for a (mere) play.
আকাশ পৃথিবী এতদুভয়ের মধ্যে যা আছে, তা আমি ক্রীড়াচ্ছলে সৃষ্টি করিনি।
لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ لَدُنَّا إِنْ كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
Had We intended to take a pastime (i.e. a wife or a son), We could surely have taken it from Us, if We were going to do (that).
আমি যদি ক্রীড়া উপকরণ সৃষ্টি করতে চাইতাম, তবে আমি আমার কাছে যা আছে তা দ্বারাই তা করতাম, যদি আমাকে করতে হত।
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ ۚ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
Nay, We fling (send down) the truth (this Qur'ân) against the falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and behold, it (falsehood) is vanished. And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe (to Allâh by uttering that Allâh has a wife and a son).
বরং আমি সত্যকে মিথ্যার উপর নিক্ষেপ করি, অতঃপর সত্য মিথ্যার মস্তক চুর্ণ-বিচূর্ণ করে দেয়, অতঃপর মিথ্যা তৎক্ষণাৎ নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়ে যায়। তোমরা যা বলছ, তার জন্যে তোমাদের দুর্ভোগ।
وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those who are near Him (i.e. the angels) are not too proud to worship Him, nor are they weary (of His worship).
নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলে যারা আছে, তারা তাঁরই। আর যারা তাঁর সান্নিধ্যে আছে তারা তাঁর ইবাদতে অহংকার করে না এবং অলসতাও করে না।
يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
They (i.e. the angels) glorify His Praises night and day, (and) they never slacken (to do so)
তারা রাত্রিদিন তাঁর পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা বর্ণনা করে এবং ক্লান্ত হয় না।
أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا آلِهَةً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنْشِرُونَ
Or have they taken (for worship) âlihah (gods) from the earth who raise the dead?
তারা কি মৃত্তিকা দ্বারা তৈরী উপাস্য গ্রহণ করেছে, যে তারা তাদেরকে জীবিত করবে?
لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) âlihah (gods) besides Allâh, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified is Allâh, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above all that they attribute to Him!
যদি নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলে আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য উপাস্য থাকত, তবে উভয়ের ধ্বংস হয়ে যেত। অতএব তারা যা বলে, তা থেকে আরশের অধিপতি আল্লাহ পবিত্র।
لَا يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ
He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned.
তিনি যা করেন, তৎসম্পর্কে তিনি জিজ্ঞাসিত হবেন না এবং তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হবে।
أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَنْ مَعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَنْ قَبْلِي ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Or have they taken for worship (other) âlihah (gods) besides Him? Say: "Bring your proof:" This (the Qur'ân) is the Reminder for those with me and the Reminder for those before me. But most of them know not the Truth, so they are averse.
তারা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য উপাস্য গ্রহণ করেছে? বলুন, তোমরা তোমাদের প্রমাণ আন। এটাই আমার সঙ্গীদের কথা এবং এটাই আমার পুর্ববর্তীদের কথা। বরং তাদের অধিকাংশই সত্য জানে না; অতএব তারা টালবাহানা করে।
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ
And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad SAW) but We revealed to him (saying): Lâ ilâha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allâh)], so worship Me (Alone and none else)."
আপনার পূর্বে আমি যে রাসূলই প্রেরণ করেছি, তাকে এ আদেশই প্রেরণ করেছি যে, আমি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন উপাস্য নেই। সুতরাং আমারই এবাদত কর।
وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ
And they say: "The Most Gracious (Allâh) has begotten a son (or children)." Glory to Him! They [whom they call children of Allâh i.e. the angels, 'Īsā (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra)], are but honoured slaves.
তারা বললঃ দয়াময় আল্লাহ সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছে। তাঁর জন্য কখনও ইহা যোগ্য নয়; বরং তারা তো তাঁর সম্মানিত বান্দা।
لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِأَمْرِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ
They speak not until He has spoken, and they act on His Command.
তারা আগে বেড়ে কথা বলতে পারে না এবং তারা তাঁর আদেশেই কাজ করে।
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ وَهُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ مُشْفِقُونَ
He knows what is before them, and what is behind them, and they cannot intercede except for him with whom He is pleased. And they stand in awe for fear of Him.
তাদের সম্মুখে ও পশ্চাতে যা আছে, তা তিনি জানেন। তারা শুধু তাদের জন্যে সুপারিশ করে, যাদের প্রতি আল্লাহ সন্তুষ্ট এবং তারা তাঁর ভয়ে ভীত।
وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَٰهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ
And if any of them should say: "Verily, I am an ilâh (a god) besides Him (Allâh)," such a one We should recompense with Hell. Thus We recompense the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).
তাদের মধ্যে যে বলে যে, তিনি ব্যতীত আমিই উপাস্য, তাকে আমি জাহান্নামের শাস্তি দেব। আমি জালেমদেরকে এভাবেই প্রতিফল দিয়ে থাকি।
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
কাফেররা কি ভেবে দেখে না যে, আকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর মুখ বন্ধ ছিল, অতঃপর আমি উভয়কে খুলে দিলাম এবং প্রাণবন্ত সবকিছু আমি পানি থেকে সৃষ্টি করলাম। এরপরও কি তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে না?
وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَنْ تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them, and We placed therein broad highways for them to pass through, that they may be guided.
আমি পৃথিবীতে ভারী বোঝা রেখে দিয়েছি যাতে তাদেরকে নিয়ে পৃথিবী ঝুঁকে না পড়ে এবং তাতে প্রশস্ত পথ রেখেছি, যাতে তারা পথ প্রাপ্ত হয়।
وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَحْفُوظًا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.).
আমি আকাশকে সুরক্ষিত ছাদ করেছি; অথচ তারা আমার আকাশস্থ নিদর্শনাবলী থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে রাখে।
وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
And He it is Who has created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating.
তিনিই সৃষ্টি করেছেন রাত্রি ও দিন এবং সূর্য ও চন্দ্র। সবাই আপন আপন কক্ষপথে বিচরণ করে।
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِنْ مِتَّ فَهُمُ الْخَالِدُونَ
And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad SAW), then if you die, would they live forever?
আপনার পূর্বেও কোন মানুষকে আমি অনন্ত জীবন দান করিনি। সুতরাং আপনার মৃত্যু হলে তারা কি চিরঞ্জীব হবে?
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.
প্রত্যেককে মৃত্যুর স্বাদ আস্বাদন করতে হবে। আমি তোমাদেরকে মন্দ ও ভাল দ্বারা পরীক্ষা করে থাকি এবং আমারই কাছে তোমরা প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে।
وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ
And when those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allâh) see you (O Muhammad SAW), they take you not except for mockery (saying): "Is this the one who talks (badly) about your gods?" While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Gracious (Allâh). [Tafsir. Al-Qurtubî]
কাফেররা যখন আপনাকে দেখে তখন আপনার সাথে ঠাট্টা করা ছাড়া তাদের আর কোন কাজ থাকে না, একি সেই ব্যক্তি, যে তোমাদের দেব-দেবীদের সমালোচনা করে? এবং তারাই তো রহমান' এর আলোচনায় অস্বীকার করে।
خُلِقَ الْإِنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ ۚ سَأُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِي فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
Man is created of haste, I will show you My Ayât (torments, proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).So ask Me not to hasten (them).
সৃষ্টিগত ভাবে মানুষ ত্বরাপ্রবণ, আমি সত্তরই তোমাদেরকে আমার নিদর্শনাবলী দেখাব। অতএব আমাকে শীঘ্র করতে বলো না।
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
And they say: "When will this promise (come to pass), if you are truthful."
এবং তারা বলেঃ যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও তবে এই ওয়াদা কবে পুর্ণ হবে?
لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَنْ وُجُوهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ
If only those who disbelieved knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor from their backs; and they will not be helped.
যদি কাফেররা ঐ সময়টি জানত, যখন তারা তাদের সম্মুখ ও পৃষ্ঠদেশ থেকে অগ্নি প্রতিরোধ করতে পারবে না এবং তারা সাহায্য প্রাপ্ত হবে না।
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِمْ بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُونَ
Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite.
বরং তা আসবে তাদের উপর অতর্কিত ভাবে, অতঃপর তাদেরকে তা হতবুদ্ধি করে দেবে, তখন তারা তা রোধ করতেও পারবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।
وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you (O Muhammad SAW), but the scoffers were surrounded by that, whereat they used to mock.
আপনার পূর্বেও অনেক রাসূলের সাথে ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রূপ করা হয়েছে। অতঃপর যে বিষয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা করত তা উল্টো ঠাট্টাকারীদের উপরই আপতিত হয়েছে।
قُلْ مَنْ يَكْلَؤُكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Say: "Who can guard and protect you in the night or in the day from the (punishment of the) Most Gracious (Allâh)?" Nay, but they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord.
বলুনঃ 'রহমান' থেকে কে তোমাদেরকে হেফাযত করবে রাত্রে ও দিনে। বরং তারা তাদের পালনকর্তার স্মরণ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে রাখে।
أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِنْ دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ مِنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
Or have they âlihah (gods) who can guard them from Us? They have no power to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us (i.e. from Our Torment).
তবে কি আমি ব্যতীত তাদের এমন দেব-দেবী আছে যারা তাদেরকে রক্ষা করবে? তারা তো নিজেদেরই সাহায্য করতে সক্ষম নয় এবং তারা আমার মোকাবেলায় সাহায্যকারীও পাবে না।
بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ
Nay, We gave the luxuries of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them. See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will overcome.
বরং আমি তাদেরকে এবং তাদের বাপ-দাদাকে ভোগসম্বার দিয়েছিলাম, এমনকি তাদের আয়ুস্কালও দীর্ঘ হয়েছিল। তারা কি দেখে না যে, আমি তাদের দেশকে চতুর্দিক থেকে হ্রাস করে আনছি। এরপরও কি তারা বিজয়ী হবে?
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُنْذِرُكُمْ بِالْوَحْيِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا مَا يُنْذَرُونَ
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I warn you only by the revelation (from Allâh and not by the opinion of the religious scholars and others). But the deaf (who follow the religious scholars and others blindly) will not hear the call, (even) when they are warned [(i.e. one should follow only the Qur'ân and the Sunnah (legal ways, orders, acts of worship, and the statements of Prophet Muhammad SAW , as the Companions of the Prophet SAW did)].
বলুনঃ আমি তো কেবল ওহীর মাধ্যমেই তোমাদেরকে সতর্ক করি, কিন্তু বধিরদেরকে যখন সতর্ক করা হয়, তখন তারা সে সতর্কবাণী শোনে না।
وَلَئِنْ مَسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
And if a breath (minor calamity) of the Torment of your Lord touches them, they will surely cry: "Woe unto us! Indeed we have been Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).
আপনার পালনকর্তার আযাবের কিছুমাত্রও তাদেরকে স্পর্শ করলে তারা বলতে থাকবে, হায় আমাদের দুর্ভাগ্য, আমরা অবশ্যই পাপী ছিলাম।
وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا ۖ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَاسِبِينَ
And We shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection, then none will be dealt with unjustly in anything. And if there be the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it. And Sufficient are We to take account.
আমি কেয়ামতের দিন ন্যায়বিচারের মানদন্ড স্থাপন করব। সুতরাং কারও প্রতি জুলুম হবে না। যদি কোন আমল সরিষার দানা পরিমাণও হয়, আমি তা উপস্থিত করব এবং হিসাব গ্রহণের জন্যে আমিই যথেষ্ট।
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاءً وَذِكْرًا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
And indeed We granted to Mûsa (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron) the criterion (of right and wrong), and a shining light [i.e. the Taurât (Torah)] and a Reminder for Al-Muttaqûn (the pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2).
আমি মূসা ও হারুণকে দান করেছিলাম মীমাংসাকারী গ্রন্থ, আলো ও উপদেশ, আল্লাহ ভীরুদের জন্যে
الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ وَهُمْ مِنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ
Those who fear their Lord without seeing Him, and they are afraid of the Hour.
যারা না দেখেই তাদের পালনকর্তাকে ভয় করে এবং কেয়ামতের ভয়ে শঙ্কিত।
وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُبَارَكٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ ۚ أَفَأَنْتُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ
And this is a blessed Reminder (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down, will you then (dare to) deny it?
এবং এটা একটা বরকতময় উপদেশ, যা আমি নাযিল করেছি। অতএব তোমরা কি একে অস্বীকার কর?
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِ عَالِمِينَ
And indeed We bestowed aforetime on Ibrâhim (Abraham) his (portion of) guidance, and We were Well-Acquainted with him (as to his Belief in the Oneness of Allâh).
আর, আমি ইতিপূর্বে ইব্রাহীমকে তার সৎপন্থা দান করেছিলাম এবং আমি তার সম্পর্কে সম্যক পরিজ্ঞাত ও ছিলাম।
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ
When he said to his father and his people: "What are these images, to which you are devoted?"
যখন তিনি তাঁর পিতা ও তাঁর সম্প্রদায়কে বললেনঃ এই মূর্তিগুলো কী, যাদের তোমরা পূজারী হয়ে বসে আছ।
قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ
They said:"We found our fathers worshipping them."
তারা বললঃ আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাকে এদের পুজা করতে দেখেছি।
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
He said: "Indeed you and your fathers have been in manifest error."
তিনি বললেনঃ তোমরা প্রকাশ্য গোমরাহীতে আছ এবং তোমাদের বাপ-দাদারাও।
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنْتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ
They said: "Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?"
তারা বললঃ তুমি কি আমাদের কাছে সত্যসহ আগমন করেছ, না তুমি কৌতুক করছ?
قَالَ بَلْ رَبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
He said: "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them and to that I am one of the witnesses.
তিনি বললেনঃ না, তিনিই তোমাদের পালনকর্তা যিনি নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলের পালনকর্তা, যিনি এগুলো সৃষ্টি করেছেন; এবং আমি এই বিষয়েরই সাক্ষ্যদাতা।
وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُمْ بَعْدَ أَنْ تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ
"And by Allâh, I shall plot a plan (to destroy) your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs."
আল্লাহর কসম, যখন তোমরা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করে চলে যাবে, তখন আমি তোমাদের মূর্তিগুলোর ব্যাপারে একটা ব্যবস্থা অবলম্বন করব।
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
So he broke them to pieces, (all) except the biggest of them, that they might turn to it.
অতঃপর তিনি সেগুলোকে চূর্ণ-বিচুর্ণ করে দিলেন ওদের প্রধানটি ব্যতীতঃ যাতে তারা তাঁর কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করে।
قَالُوا مَنْ فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
They said: "Who has done this to our âlihah (gods)? He must indeed be one of the Zalimun (wrong-doers)."
তারা বললঃ আমাদের উপাস্যদের সাথে এরূপ ব্যবহার কে করল? সে তো নিশ্চয়ই কোন জালিম।
قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ
They said: "We heard a young man talking against them, who is called Ibrâhim (Abraham)."
কতক লোকে বললঃ আমরা এক যুবককে তাদের সম্পর্কে বিরূপ আলোচনা করতে শুনেছি; তাকে ইব্রাহীম বলা হয়।
قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ
They said: "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may testify."
তারা বললঃ তাকে জনসমক্ষে উপস্থিত কর, যাতে তারা দেখে।
قَالُوا أَأَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ
They said: "Are you the one who has done this to our gods, O Ibrâhim (Abraham)?"
তারা বললঃ হে ইব্রাহীম তুমিই কি আমাদের উপাস্যদের সাথে এরূপ ব্যবহার করেছ?
قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِنْ كَانُوا يَنْطِقُونَ
[Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: "Nay, this one, the biggest of them (idols) did it. Ask them, if they can speak!"
তিনি বললেনঃ না এদের এই প্রধানই তো একাজ করেছে। অতএব তাদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস কর, যদি তারা কথা বলতে পারে।
فَرَجَعُوا إِلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
So they turned to themselves and said: "Verily, you are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
অতঃপর মনে মনে চিন্তা করল এবং বললঃ লোক সকল; তোমরাই বে ইনসাফ।
ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ يَنْطِقُونَ
Then they turned to themselves (their first thought and said): "Indeed you [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] know well that these (idols) speak not!"
অতঃপর তারা ঝুঁকে গেল মস্তক নত করে, তুমি তো জান যে, এরা কথা বলে না
قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
[Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: "Do you then worship besides Allâh, things that can neither profit you, nor harm you?
তিনি বললেনঃ তোমরা কি আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন কিছুর এবাদত কর, যা তোমাদের কোন উপকার ও করতে পারে না এবং ক্ষতিও করতে পারে না ?
أُفٍّ لَكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
"Fie upon you, and upon that which you worship besides Allâh! Have you then no sense?"
ধিক তোমাদের জন্যে এবং তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদেরই এবাদত কর, ওদের জন্যে। তোমরা কি বোঝ না?
قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانْصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
They said: "Burn him and help your âlihah (gods), if you will be doing."
তারা বললঃ একে পুড়িয়ে দাও এবং তোমাদের উপাস্যদের সাহায্য কর, যদি তোমরা কিছু করতে চাও।
قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
We (Allâh) said: "O fire! Be you coolness and safety for Ibrâhim (Abraham)!"
আমি বললামঃ হে অগ্নি, তুমি ইব্রাহীমের উপর শীতল ও নিরাপদ হয়ে যাও।
وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ
And they wanted to harm him, but We made them the worst losers.
তারা ইব্রাহীমের বিরুদ্ধে ফন্দি আঁটতে চাইল, অতঃপর আমি তাদেরকেই সর্বাধিক ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ করে দিলাম।
وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ
And We rescued him and Lut (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinn).
আমি তাঁকে ও লূতকে উদ্ধার করে সেই দেশে পৌঁছিয়ে দিলাম, যেখানে আমি বিশ্বের জন্যে কল্যাণ রেখেছি।
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ
And We bestowed upon him Ishâq (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya'qûb (Jacob). Each one We made righteous.
আমি তাকে দান করলাম ইসহাক ও পুরস্কার স্বরূপ দিলাম ইয়াকুব এবং প্রত্যেককেই সৎকর্ম পরায়ণ করলাম।
وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَإِقَامَ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءَ الزَّكَاةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا عَابِدِينَ
And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We revealed them the doing of good deeds, performing Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and the giving of Zakât and of Us (Alone) they were the worshippers.
আমি তাঁদেরকে নেতা করলাম। তাঁরা আমার নির্দেশ অনুসারে পথ প্রদর্শন করতেন। আমি তাঁদের প্রতি ওহী নাযিল করলাম সৎকর্ম করার, নামায কায়েম করার এবং যাকাত দান করার। তাঁরা আমার এবাদতে ব্যাপৃত ছিল।
وَلُوطًا آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَعْمَلُ الْخَبَائِثَ ۗ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَاسِقِينَ
And (remember) Lut (Lot), We gave him Hukm (right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) and (religious) knowledge, and We saved him from the town (folk) who practised Al-Khabâ'ith (evil, wicked and filthy deeds). Verily, they were a people given to evil, and were Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient, to Allâh).
এবং আমি লূতকে দিয়েছিলাম প্রজ্ঞা ও জ্ঞান এবং তাঁকে ঐ জনপদ থেকে উদ্ধার করেছিলাম, যারা নোংরা কাজে লিপ্ত ছিল। তারা মন্দ ও নাফরমান সম্প্রদায় ছিল।
وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
And We admitted him to Our Mercy, truly, he was of the righteous.
আমি তাকে আমার অনুগ্রহের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করেছিলাম। সে ছিল সৎকর্মশীলদের একজন।
وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ
And (remember) Nûh (Noah), when he cried (to Us) aforetime. We answered to his invocation and saved him and his family from great distress.
এবং স্মরণ করুন নূহকে; যখন তিনি এর পূর্বে আহবান করেছিলেন। তখন আমি তাঁর দোয়া কবুল করেছিলাম, অতঃপর তাঁকে ও তাঁর পরিবারবর্গকে মহা সংকট থেকে উদ্ধার করেছিলাম।
وَنَصَرْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
We helped him against people who denied Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). Verily, they were a people given to evil. So We drowned them all.
এবং আমি তাঁকে ঐ সম্প্রদায়ের বিপক্ষে সাহায্য করেছিলাম, যারা আমার নিদর্শনাবলীকে অস্বীকার করেছিল। নিশ্চয়, তারা ছিল এক মন্দ সম্প্রদায়। অতঃপর আমি তাদের সবাইকে নিমজ্জত করেছিলাম।
وَدَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِي الْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَاهِدِينَ
And (remember) Dawûd (David) and Sulaimân (Solomon), when they gave judgement in the case of the field in which the sheep of certain people had pastured at night, and We were witness to their judgement.
এবং স্মরণ করুন দাউদ ও সুলায়মানকে, যখন তাঁরা শস্যক্ষেত্র সম্পর্কে বিচার করেছিলেন। তাতে রাত্রিকালে কিছু লোকের মেষ ঢুকে পড়েছিল। তাদের বিচার আমার সম্মুখে ছিল।
فَفَهَّمْنَاهَا سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ وَكُلًّا آتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُودَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
And We made Sulaimân (Solomon) to understand (the case), and to each of them We gave Hukm (right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains and the birds to glorify Our Praises along with Dawûd (David), And it was We Who were the doers (of all these things),
অতঃপর আমি সুলায়মানকে সে ফায়সালা বুঝিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম এবং আমি উভয়কে প্রজ্ঞা ও জ্ঞান দিয়েছিলাম। আমি পর্বত ও পক্ষীসমূহকে দাউদের অনুগত করে দিয়েছিলাম; তারা আমার পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করত। এই সমস্ত আমিই করেছিলাম।
وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ لَكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُمْ مِنْ بَأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ شَاكِرُونَ
And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful?
আমি তাঁকে তোমাদের জন্যে বর্ম নির্মান শিক্ষা দিয়েছিলাম, যাতে তা যুদ্ধে তোমাদেরকে রক্ষা করে। অতএব তোমরা কি কৃতজ্ঞ হবে?
وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَالِمِينَ
And to Sulaimân (Solomon) (We subjected) the wind strongly raging, running by his command towards the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are the All-Knower
এবং সুলায়মানের অধীন করে দিয়েছিলাম প্রবল বায়ুকে; তা তাঁর আদেশে প্রবাহিত হত ঐ দেশের দিকে, যেখানে আমি কল্যাণ দান করেছি। আমি সব বিষয়েই সম্যক অবগত রয়েছি।
وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَنْ يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَافِظِينَ
And of the Shayâtin (devils from the jinn) were some who dived for him, and did other work besides that; and it was We Who guarded them.
এবং অধীন করেছি শয়তানদের কতককে, যারা তার জন্যে ডুবুরীর কাজ করত এবং এ ছাড়া অন্য আরও অনেক কাজ করত। আমি তাদেরকে নিয়ন্ত্রন করে রাখতাম।
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
And (remember) Ayyûb (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy."
এবং স্মরণ করুন আইয়্যুবের কথা, যখন তিনি তাঁর পালনকর্তাকে আহবান করে বলেছিলেনঃ আমি দুঃখকষ্টে পতিত হয়েছি এবং আপনি দয়াবানদের চাইতেও সর্বশ্রেষ্ট দয়াবান।
فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِنْ ضُرٍّ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَابِدِينَ
So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost), and the like thereof along with them as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all who worship Us.
অতঃপর আমি তাঁর আহবানে সাড়া দিলাম এবং তাঁর দুঃখকষ্ট দূর করে দিলাম এবং তাঁর পরিবরাবর্গ ফিরিয়ে দিলাম, আর তাদের সাথে তাদের সমপরিমাণ আরও দিলাম আমার পক্ষ থেকে কৃপাবশতঃ আর এটা এবাদত কারীদের জন্যে উপদেশ স্বরূপ।
وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
And (remember) Isma'îl (Ishmael), and Idris (Enoch) and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all were from among As-Sâbirun (the patient).
এবং ইসমাঈল, ই'দ্রীস ও যুলকিফলের কথা স্মরণ করুন, তাঁরা প্রত্যেকেই ছিলেন সবরকারী।
وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
And We admitted them to Our Mercy. Verily, they were of the righteous
আমি তাঁদেরকে আমার রহমাতপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত করেছিলাম। তাঁরা ছিলেন সৎকর্মপরায়ণ।
وَذَا النُّونِ إِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
And (remember) Dhun-Nûn (Jonah), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamites which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): Lâ ilâha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allâh)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers."
এবং মাছওয়ালার কথা স্মরণ করুন তিনি ক্রুদ্ধ হয়ে চলে গিয়েছিলেন, অতঃপর মনে করেছিলেন যে, আমি তাঁকে ধৃত করতে পারব না। অতঃপর তিনি অন্ধকারের মধ্যে আহবান করলেনঃ তুমি ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই; তুমি নির্দোষ আমি গুনাহগার।
فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُنْجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allâh, abstain from evil and work righteousness)
অতঃপর আমি তাঁর আহবানে সাড়া দিলাম এবং তাঁকে দুশ্চিন্তা থেকে মুক্তি দিলাম। আমি এমনি ভাবে বিশ্ববাসীদেরকে মুক্তি দিয়ে থাকি।
وَزَكَرِيَّا إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
And (remember) Zakariyya (Zachariah), when he cried to his Lord: "O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors."
এবং যাকারিয়ার কথা স্মরণ করুন, যখন সে তার পালনকর্তাকে আহবান করেছিল; হে আমার পালনকর্তা আমাকে একা রেখো না। তুমি তো উত্তম ওয়ারিস।
فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ
So We answered his call, and We bestowed upon him Yahya (John), and cured his wife (to bear a child) for him. Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us.
অতঃপর আমি তার দোয়া কবুল করেছিলাম, তাকে দান করেছিলাম ইয়াহইয়া এবং তার জন্যে তার স্ত্রীকে প্রসব যোগ্য করেছিলাম। তারা সৎকর্মে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়ত, তারা আশা ও ভীতি সহকারে আমাকে ডাকত এবং তারা ছিল আমার কাছে বিনীত।
وَالَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَاهَا وَابْنَهَا آيَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
And she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Rûh Jibril (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Īsā (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinn).
এবং সেই নারীর কথা আলোচনা করুন, যে তার কামপ্রবৃত্তিকে বশে রেখেছিল, অতঃপর আমি তার মধ্যে আমার রূহ ফুঁকে দিয়েছিলাম এবং তাকে তার পুত্রকে বিশ্ববাসীর জন্য নিদর্শন করেছিলাম।
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ
Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharian or religion (Islâmic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone). [Tafsîr Ibn Kathîr].
তারা সকলেই তোমাদের ধর্মের; একই ধর্মে তো বিশ্বাসী সবাই এবং আমিই তোমাদের পালনকর্তা, অতএব আমার বন্দেগী কর।
وَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ
But they have broken up and differed as regards their religion among themselves. (And) they all shall return to Us.
এবং মানুষ তাদের কার্যকলাপ দ্বারা পারস্পরিক বিষয়ে ভেদ সৃষ্টি করেছে। প্রত্যেকেই আমার কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে।
فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ
So whoever does righteous good deeds while he is a believer (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism), his efforts will not be rejected. Verily! We record it for him (in his Book of deeds).
অতঃপর যে বিশ্বাসী অবস্থায় সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন করে, তার প্রচেষ্টা অস্বীকৃত হবে না এবং আমি তা লিপিবদ্ধ করে রাখি।
وَحَرَامٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
And a ban is laid on every town (population) which We have destroyed that they shall not return (to this world again, nor repent to Us).
যেসব জনপদকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি, তার অধিবাসীদের ফিরে না আসা অবধারিত।
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنْسِلُونَ
Until, when Ya'jûj and Ma'jûj (Gog and Magog) are let loose (from their barrier), and they swoop down from every mound.
যে পর্যন্ত না ইয়াজুজ ও মাজুজকে বন্ধন মুক্ত করে দেয়া হবে এবং তারা প্রত্যেক উচ্চভুমি থেকে দ্রুত ছুটে আসবে।
وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly staring in horror. (They will say): "Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
আমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুত সময় নিকটবর্তী হলে কাফেরদের চক্ষু উচ্চে স্থির হয়ে যাবে; হায় আমাদের দূর্ভাগ্য, আমরা এ বিষয়ে বেখবর ছিলাম; বরং আমরা গোনাহগরই ছিলাম।
إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنْتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ
Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allâh, are (but) fuel for Hell! (Surely), you will enter it.
তোমরা এবং আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তোমরা যাদের পুজা কর, সেগুলো দোযখের ইন্ধন। তোমরাই তাতে প্রবেশ করবে।
لَوْ كَانَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ آلِهَةً مَا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Had these (idols) been âlihah (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein.
এই মূর্তিরা যদি উপাস্য হত, তবে জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করত না। প্রত্যেকেই তাতে চিরস্থায়ী হয়ে পড়ে থাকবে।
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
Therein they will be breathing out with deep sighs and roaring, and therein they will hear not.
তারা সেখানে চীৎকার করবে এবং সেখানে তারা কিছুই শুনতে পাবে না।
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِنَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
Verily those for whom the good has preceded from Us, they will be removed far therefrom (Hell) [e.g. 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary); 'Uzair (Ezra)].
যাদের জন্য প্রথম থেকেই আমার পক্ষ থেকে কল্যাণ নির্ধারিত হয়েছে তারা দোযখ থেকে দূরে থাকবে।
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ خَالِدُونَ
They shall not hear the slightest sound of it (Hell), while they abide in that which their ownselves desire.
তারা তার ক্ষীণতম শব্দও শুনবে না এবং তারা তাদের মনের বাসনা অনুযায়ী চিরকাল বসবাস করবে।
لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
The greatest terror (on the Day of Resurrection) will not grieve them, and the angels will meet them, (with the greeting): "This is your Day which you were promised."
মহা ত্রাস তাদেরকে চিন্তান্বিত করবে না এবং ফেরেশতারা তাদেরকে অভ্যর্থনা করবেঃ আজ তোমাদের দিন, যে দিনের ওয়াদা তোমাদেরকে দেয়া হয়েছিল।
يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
And (remember) the Day when We shall roll up the heaven like a scroll rolled up for books, As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it.
সেদিন আমি আকাশকে গুটিয়ে নেব, যেমন গুটানো হয় লিখিত কাগজপত্র। যেভাবে আমি প্রথমবার সৃষ্টি করেছিলাম, সেভাবে পুনরায় সৃষ্টি করব। আমার ওয়াদা নিশ্চিত, আমাকে তা পূর্ণ করতেই হবে।
وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِي الزَّبُورِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ
And indeed We have written in Az-Zabûr [i.e. all the revealed Holy Books - the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Psalms, the Qur'ân] after (We have already written in) Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz (the Book, that is in the heaven with Allâh), that My righteous slaves shall inherit the land (i.e. the land of Paradise).
আমি উপদেশের পর যবুরে লিখে দিয়েছি যে, আমার সৎকর্মপরায়ণ বান্দাগণ অবশেষে পৃথিবীর অধিকারী হবে।
إِنَّ فِي هَٰذَا لَبَلَاغًا لِقَوْمٍ عَابِدِينَ
Verily, in this (the Qur'ân) there is a plain Message for people who worship Allâh (i.e. the true, real believers of Islâmic Monotheism who act practically on the Qur'ân and the Sunnah legal ways of the Prophet SAW).
এতে এবাদতকারী সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে পর্যাপ্ত বিষয়বস্তু আছে।
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
আমি আপনাকে বিশ্ববাসীর জন্যে রহমত স্বরূপই প্রেরণ করেছি।
قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It is revealed to me that your Ilâh (God) is only one Ilâh (God - Allâh). Will you then submit to His Will (become Muslims and stop worshipping others besides Allâh)?"
বলুনঃ আমাকে তো এ আদেশই দেয়া হয়েছে যে, তোমাদের উপাস্য একমাত্র উপাস্য। সুতরাংতোমরা কি আজ্ঞাবহ হবে?
فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ آذَنْتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَاءٍ ۖ وَإِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ أَمْ بَعِيدٌ مَا تُوعَدُونَ
But if they (disbelievers, idolaters, Jews, Christians, polytheists) turn away (from Islâmic Monotheism) say (to them O Muhammad SAW): "I give you a notice (of war as) to be known to us all alike. And I know not whether that which you are promised (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) is near or far."
অতঃপর যদি তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তবে বলে দিনঃ আমি তোমাদেরকে পরিস্কার ভাবে সতর্ক করেছি এবং আমি জানি না, তোমাদেরকে যে ওয়াদা দেয়া হয়েছে, তা নিকটবর্তী না দূরবর্তী।
إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ
(Say O Muhammad SAW) Verily, He (Allâh) knows that which is spoken aloud (openly) and that which you conceal.
তিনি জানেন, যে কথা সশব্দে বল এবং যে কথা তোমরা গোপন কর।
وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
And I know not, perhaps it may be a trial for you, and an enjoyment for a while.
আমি জানি না সম্ভবতঃ বিলম্বের মধ্যে তোমাদের জন্যে একটি পরীক্ষা এবং এক সময় পর্যন্ত ভোগ করার সুযোগ।
قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
He (Muhammad SAW) said:"My Lord! Judge You in truth! Our Lord is the Most Gracious, Whose Help is to be sought against that which you attribute (unto Allâh that He has offspring, and unto Muhammad SAW that he is a sorcerer, and unto the Qur'ân that it is poetry)!"
পয়গাম্বর বললেনঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আপনি ন্যায়ানুগ ফয়সালা করে দিন। আমাদের পালনকর্তা তো দয়াময়, তোমরা যা বলছ, সে বিষয়ে আমরা তাঁর কাছেই সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করি।
