بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ كهيعص
Kâf¬ Hâ¬Yâ¬'Aîn¬Sâd. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings].
কাফ-হা-ইয়া-আইন-সাদ
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُ زَكَرِيَّا
(This is) a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His slave Zakariyya (Zachariah).
এটা আপনার পালনকর্তার অনুগ্রহের বিবরণ তাঁর বান্দা যাকারিয়ার প্রতি।
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ نِدَاءً خَفِيًّا
When he called out his Lord (Allâh) a call in secret.
যখন সে তাঁর পালনকর্তাকে আহবান করেছিল নিভৃতে।
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنْ بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
He said: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord!
সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা আমার অস্থি বয়স-ভারাবনত হয়েছে; বার্ধক্যে মস্তক সুশুভ্র হয়েছে; হে আমার পালনকর্তা! আপনাকে ডেকে আমি কখনও বিফলমনোরথ হইনি।
وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِنْ وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ وَلِيًّا
"And Verily, I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir,
আমি ভয় করি আমার পর আমার স্বগোত্রকে এবং আমার স্ত্রী বন্ধ্যা; কাজেই আপনি নিজের পক্ষ থেকে আমাকে এক জন কর্তব্য পালনকারী দান করুন।
يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
"Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qûb (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not wealth). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!"
সে আমার স্থলাভিষিক্ত হবে ইয়াকুব বংশের এবং হে আমার পালনকর্তা, তাকে করুন সন্তোষজনক।
يَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
(Allâh said) "O Zakariyya (Zachariah)! Verily, We give you the glad tidings of a son, Whose name will be Yahya (John). We have given that name to none before (him)."
হে যাকারিয়া, আমি তোমাকে এক পুত্রের সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছি, তার নাম হবে ইয়াহইয়া। ইতিপূর্বে এই নামে আমি কারও নাম করণ করিনি।
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا
He said: "My Lord! How can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have reached the extreme old age."
সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা কেমন করে আমার পুত্র হবে অথচ আমার স্ত্রী যে বন্ধ্যা, আর আমিও যে বার্ধক্যের শেষ প্রান্তে উপনীত।
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْئًا
He said: "So (it will be). Your Lord says; It is easy for Me. Certainly I have created you before, when you had been nothing!"
তিনি বললেনঃ এমনিতেই হবে। তোমার পালনকর্তা বলে দিয়েছেনঃ এটা আমার পক্ষে সহজ। আমি তো পুর্বে তোমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছি এবং তুমি কিছুই ছিলে না।
قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ لِي آيَةً ۚ قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا
[Zakariyya (Zachariah)] said: "My Lord! Appoint for me a sign." He said: "Your sign is that you shall not speak unto mankind for three nights, though having no bodily defect."
সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে একটি নির্দশন দিন। তিনি বললেন তোমার নিদর্শন এই যে, তুমি সুস্থ অবস্থায় তিন দিন মানুষের সাথে কথাবার্তা বলবে না।
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنَ الْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
Then he came out to his people from Al-Mihrâb (a praying place or a private room), he told them by signs to glorify Allâh's Praises in the morning and in the afternoon.
অতঃপর সে কক্ষ থেকে বের হয়ে তার সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে এল এবং ইঙ্গিতে তাদেরকে সকাল সন্ধ্যায় আল্লাহকে স্মরণ করতে বললঃ
يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
(It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child.
হে ইয়াহইয়া দৃঢ়তার সাথে এই গ্রন্থ ধারণ কর। আমি তাকে শৈশবেই বিচারবুদ্ধি দান করেছিলাম।
وَحَنَانًا مِنْ لَدُنَّا وَزَكَاةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,
এবং নিজের পক্ষ থেকে আগ্রহ ও পবিত্রতা দিয়েছি। সে ছিল পরহেযগার।
وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا
And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allâh or to his parents).
পিতা-মাতার অনুগত এবং সে উদ্ধত, নাফরমান ছিল না।
وَسَلَامٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
And Salâm (peace) be on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)!
তার প্রতি শান্তি-যেদিন সে জন্মগ্রহণ করে এবং যেদিন মৃত্যুবরণ করবে এবং যেদিন জীবিতাবস্থায় পুনরুত্থিত হবে।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ انْتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'ân, O Muhammad SAW , the story of) Maryam (Mary), when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east
এই কিতাবে মারইয়ামের কথা বর্ণনা করুন, যখন সে তার পরিবারের লোকজন থেকে পৃথক হয়ে পূর্বদিকে এক স্থানে আশ্রয় নিল।
فَاتَّخَذَتْ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا
She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibril (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.
অতঃপর তাদের থেকে নিজেকে আড়াল করার জন্যে সে পর্দা করলো। অতঃপর আমি তার কাছে আমার রূহ প্রেরণ করলাম, সে তার নিকট পুর্ণ মানবাকৃতিতে আত্নপ্রকাশ করল।
قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْكَ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَقِيًّا
She said: "Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allâh) from you, if you do fear Allâh."
মারইয়াম বললঃ আমি তোমা থেকে দয়াময়ের আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করি যদি তুমি আল্লাহভীরু হও।
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا
(The angel) said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."
সে বললঃ আমি তো শুধু তোমার পালনকর্তা প্রেরিত, যাতে তোমাকে এক পবিত্র পুত্র দান করে যাব।
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا
She said: "How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?"
মরিইয়াম বললঃ কিরূপে আমার পুত্র হবে, যখন কোন মানব আমাকে স্পর্শ করেনি এবং আমি ব্যভিচারিণীও কখনও ছিলাম না ?
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَقْضِيًّا
He said: "So (it will be), your Lord said: 'That is easy for Me (Allâh): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allâh), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allâh).' "
সে বললঃ এমনিতেই হবে। তোমার পালনকর্তা বলেছেন, এটা আমার জন্যে সহজ সাধ্য এবং আমি তাকে মানুষের জন্যে একটি নিদর্শন ও আমার পক্ষ থেকে অনুগ্রহ স্বরূপ করতে চাই। এটা তো এক স্থিরীকৃত ব্যাপার।
فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانْتَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (i.e. Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem).
অতঃপর তিনি গর্ভে সন্তান ধারণ করলেন এবং তৎসহ এক দূরবর্তী স্থানে চলে গেলেন।
فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسْيًا مَنْسِيًّا
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: "Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!"
প্রসব বেদনা তাঁকে এক খেজুর বৃক্ষ-মূলে আশ্রয় নিতে বাধ্য করল। তিনি বললেনঃ হায়, আমি যদি কোনরূপে এর পূর্বে মরে যেতাম এবং মানুষের স্মৃতি থেকে বিলুপ্ত হয়ে, যেতাম!
فَنَادَاهَا مِنْ تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا
Then [the babe 'Īsā (Jesus) or Jibril (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you;
অতঃপর ফেরেশতা তাকে নিম্নদিক থেকে আওয়ায দিলেন যে, তুমি দুঃখ করো না। তোমার পালনকর্তা তোমার পায়ের তলায় একটি নহর জারি করেছেন।
وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
"And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you."
আর তুমি নিজের দিকে খেজুর গাছের কান্ডে নাড়া দাও, তা থেকে তোমার উপর সুপক্ক খেজুর পতিত হবে।
فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ الْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِي إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ الْيَوْمَ إِنْسِيًّا
"So eat and drink and be glad, And if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allâh) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.'"
যখন আহার কর, পান কর এবং চক্ষু শীতল কর। যদি মানুষের মধ্যে কাউকে তুমি দেখ, তবে বলে দিওঃ আমি আল্লাহর উদ্দেশে রোযা মানত করছি। সুতরাং আজ আমি কিছুতেই কোন মানুষের সাথে কথা বলব না।
فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا
Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariyy (a mighty thing). (Tafsir At-Tabari)
অতঃপর তিনি সন্তানকে নিয়ে তার সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হলেন। তারা বললঃ হে মারইয়াম, তুমি একটি অঘটন ঘটিয়ে বসেছ।
يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
"O sister (i.e. the like) of Hârûn (Aaron) ! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."
হে হারূণ-ভাগিনী, তোমার পিতা অসৎ ব্যক্তি ছিলেন না এবং তোমার মাতাও ছিল না ব্যভিচারিনী।
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
অতঃপর তিনি হাতে সন্তানের দিকে ইঙ্গিত করলেন। তারা বললঃ যে কোলের শিশু তার সাথে আমরা কেমন করে কথা বলব?
قَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا
"He ['Īsā (Jesus)] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allâh, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;"
সন্তান বললঃ আমি তো আল্লাহর দাস। তিনি আমাকে কিতাব দিয়েছেন এবং আমাকে নবী করেছেন।
وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
"And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salât (prayer), and Zakât, as long as I live."
আমি যেখানেই থাকি, তিনি আমাকে বরকতময় করেছেন। তিনি আমাকে নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন, যতদিন জীবিত থাকি, ততদিন নামায ও যাকাত আদায় করতে।
وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
"And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
এবং জননীর অনুগত থাকতে এবং আমাকে তিনি উদ্ধত ও হতভাগ্য করেননি।
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدْتُ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
"And Salâm (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"
আমার প্রতি সালাম যেদিন আমি জন্মগ্রহণ করেছি, যেদিন মৃত্যুবরণ করব এবং যেদিন পুনরুজ্জীবিত হয়ে উত্থিত হব।
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
Such is 'Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (it is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute)
এই মারইয়ামের পুত্র ঈসা। সত্যকথা, যে সম্পর্কে লোকেরা বিতর্ক করে।
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ مِنْ وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
It befits not (the Majesty of) Allâh that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allâh, by saying that 'Īsā (Jesus) is the son of Allâh]. Glorified (and Exalted is He above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, "Be!" and it is
আল্লাহ এমন নন যে, সন্তান গ্রহণ করবেন, তিনি পবিত্র ও মহিমাময় সত্তা, তিনি যখন কোন কাজ করা সিদ্ধান্ত করেন, তখন একথাই বলেনঃ হও এবং তা হয়ে যায়।
وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
['Īsā (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allâh is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)." [Tafsir At-Tabarî]
তিনি আরও বললেনঃ নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ আমার পালনকর্তা ও তোমাদের পালনকর্তা। অতএব, তোমরা তার এবাদত কর। এটা সরল পথ।
فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزَابُ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ مَشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Then the sects differed [i.e. the Christians about 'Īsā (Jesus) A.S.], so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that 'Īsā (Jesus) is the son of Allâh] from the Meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).
অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে দলগুলো পৃথক পৃথক পথ অবলম্বন করল। সুতরাং মহাদিবস আগমনকালে কাফেরদের জন্যে ধবংস।
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰكِنِ الظَّالِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
How clearly will they (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) see and hear, the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error
সেদিন তারা কি চমৎকার শুনবে এবং দেখবে, যেদিন তারা আমার কাছে আগমন করবে। কিন্তু আজ জালেমরা প্রকাশ্য বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছে।
وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
And warn them (O Muhammad SAW) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not
আপনি তাদেরকে পরিতাপের দিবস সম্পর্কে হুশিয়ার করে দিন যখন সব ব্যাপারের মীমাংসা হয়ে যাবে। এখন তারা অনবধানতায় আছে এবং তারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করছে না।
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Verily! We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned,
আমিই চুড়ান্ত মালিকানার অধিকারী হব পৃথিবীর এবং তার উপর যারা আছে তাদের এবং আমারই কাছে তারা প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবে।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'ân) Ibrâhim (Abraham). Verily! he was a man of truth, a Prophet.
আপনি এই কিতাবে ইব্রাহীমের কথা বর্ণনা করুন। নিশ্চয় তিনি ছিলেন সত্যবাদী, নবী।
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْكَ شَيْئًا
When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything?
যখন তিনি তার পিতাকে বললেনঃ হে আমার পিতা, যে শোনে না, দেখে না এবং তোমার কোন উপকারে আসে না, তার এবাদত কেন কর?
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا
"O my father! Verily! there has come to me of knowledge that which came not unto you. So follow me. I will guide you to a Straight Path.
হে আমার পিতা, আমার কাছে এমন জ্ঞান এসেছে; যা তোমার কাছে আসেনি, সুতরাং আমার অনুসরণ কর, আমি তোমাকে সরল পথ দেখাব।
يَا أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا
"O my father! Worship not Shaitân (Satan). Verily! Shaitân (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Gracious (Allâh)
হে আমার পিতা, শয়তানের এবাদত করো না। নিশ্চয় শয়তান দয়াময়ের অবাধ্য।
يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا
"O my father! Verily! I fear lest a torment from the Most Gracious (Allâh) should overtake you, so that you become a companion of Shaitân (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubî]
হে আমার পিতা, আমি আশঙ্কা করি, দয়াময়ের একটি আযাব তোমাকে স্পর্শ করবে, অতঃপর তুমি শয়তানের সঙ্গী হয়ে যাবে।
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنْتَ عَنْ آلِهَتِي يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ۖ لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا
He (the father) said: "Do you reject my gods, O Ibrâhim (Abraham)? If you stop not (this), I will indeed stone you. So get away from me safely (before I punish you)."
পিতা বললঃ যে ইব্রাহীম, তুমি কি আমার উপাস্যদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছ? যদি তুমি বিরত না হও, আমি অবশ্যই প্রস্তরাঘাতে তোমার প্রাণনাশ করব। তুমি চিরতরে আমার কাছ থেকে দূর হয়ে যাও।
قَالَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِي حَفِيًّا
Ibrâhim (Abraham) said: "Peace be on you! I will ask Forgiveness of my Lord for you. Verily! He is unto me, Ever Most Gracious.
ইব্রাহীম বললেনঃ তোমার উপর শান্তি হোক, আমি আমার পালনকর্তার কাছে তোমার জন্যে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করব। নিশ্চয় তিনি আমার প্রতি মেহেরবান।
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُو رَبِّي عَسَىٰ أَلَّا أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيًّا
"And I shall turn away from you and from those whom you invoke besides Allâh. And I shall call upon my Lord; and I hope that I shall not be unblest in my invocation to my Lord."
আমি পরিত্যাগ করছি তোমাদেরকে এবং তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদের এবাদত কর তাদেরকে; আমি আমার পালনকর্তার এবাদত করব। আশা করি, আমার পালনকর্তার এবাদত করে আমি বঞ্চিত হব না।
فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا
So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allâh, We gave him Ishâq (Isaac) and Ya'qûb (Jacob), and each one of them We made a Prophet.
অতঃপর তিনি যখন তাদেরকে এবং তার আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদের এবাদত করত, তাদের সবাইকে পরিত্যাগ করলেন, তখন আমি তাকে দান করলাম ইসহাক ও ইয়াকুব এবং প্রত্যেককে নবী করলাম।
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
And We gave them of Our Mercy (a good provision in plenty), and We granted them honour on the tongues (of all the nations, i.e everybody remembers them with a good praise).
আমি তাদেরকে দান করলাম আমার অনুগ্রহ এবং তাদেরকে দিলাম সমুচ্চ সুখ্যাতি।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (this Qur'ân) Mûsa (Moses). Verily! he was chosen and he was a Messenger (and) a Prophet
এই কিতাবে মূসার কথা বর্ণনা করুন, তিনি ছিলেন মনোনীত এবং তিনি ছিলেন রাসূল, নবী।
وَنَادَيْنَاهُ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ نَجِيًّا
And We called him from the right side of the Mount, and made him draw near to Us for a talk with him [Mûsa (Moses)]
আমি তাকে আহবান করলাম তূর পাহাড়ের ডান দিক থেকে এবং গুঢ়তত্ত্ব আলোচনার উদ্দেশে তাকে নিকটবর্তী করলাম।
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِنَا أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ نَبِيًّا
And We granted him his brother Hârûn (Aaron), (also) a Prophet, out of Our Mercy.
আমি নিজ অনুগ্রহে তাঁকে দান করলাম তাঁর ভাই হারুনকে নবীরূপে।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'ân) Ismâ'il (Ishmael). Verily! he was true to what he promised, and he was a Messenger, (and) a Prophet.
এই কিতাবে ইসমাঈলের কথা বর্ণনা করুন, তিনি প্রতিশ্রুতি পালনে সত্যাশ্রয়ী এবং তিনি ছিলেন রসূল, নবী।
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ وَكَانَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا
And he used to enjoin on his family and his people As-Salât (the prayers) and the Zakât, and his Lord was pleased with him.
তিনি তাঁর পরিবারবর্গকে নামায ও যাকাত আদায়ের নির্দেশ দিতেন এবং তিনি তাঁর পালনকর্তার কাছে পছন্দনীয় ছিলেন।
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا
And mention in the Book (the Qur'ân) Idris (Enoch).Verily! he was a man of truth, (and) a Prophet.
এই কিতাবে ইদ্রীসের কথা আলোচনা করুন, তিনি ছিলেন সত্যবাদী নবী।
وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
And We raised him to a high station.
আমি তাকে উচ্চে উন্নীত করেছিলাম।
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
Those were they unto whom Allâh bestowed His Grace from among the Prophets, of the offspring of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nûh (Noah), and of the offspring of Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Israel and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the Verses of the Most Gracious (Allâh) were recited unto them, they fell down prostrat and weeping.
এরাই তারা-নবীগণের মধ্য থেকে যাদেরকে আল্লাহ তা'আলা নেয়ামত দান করেছেন। এরা আদমের বংশধর এবং যাদেরকে আমি নূহের সাথে নৌকায় আরোহন করিয়েছিলাম, তাদের বংশধর, এবং ইব্রাহীম ও ইসরাঈলের বংশধর এবং যাদেরকে আমি পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি ও মনোনীত করেছি, তাদের বংশোদ্ভূত। তাদের কাছে যখন দয়াময় আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করা হত, তখন তারা সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ত এবং ক্রন্দন করত।
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salât (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salât (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.
অতঃপর তাদের পরে এল অপদার্থ পরবর্তীরা। তারা নামায নষ্ট করল এবং কুপ্রবৃত্তির অনুবর্তী হল। সুতরাং তারা অচিরেই পথভ্রষ্টতা প্রত্যক্ষ করবে।
إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا
Except those who repent and believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and His Messenger Muhammad SAW), and work righteousness. Such will enter Paradise and they will not be wronged in aught.
কিন্তু তারা ব্যতীত, যারা তওবা করেছে, বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছে। সুতরাং তারা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে এবং তাদের উপর কোন জুলুম করা হবে না।
جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا
(They will enter) 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), which the Most Gracious (Allâh) has promised to His slaves in the unseen: Verily! His Promise must come to pass.
তাদের স্থায়ী বসবাস হবে যার ওয়াদা দয়াময় আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাদেরকে অদৃশ্যভাবে দিয়েছেন। অবশ্যই তাঁর ওয়াদার তারা পৌঁছাবে।
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَامًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
They shall not hear therein (in Paradise) any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk), but only Salâm (salutations of peace). And they will have therein their sustenance, morning and afternoon. [See (V.40:55)]
তারা সেখানে সালাম ব্যতীত কোন অসার কথাবার্তা শুনবে না এবং সেখানে সকাল-সন্ধ্যা তাদের জন্যে রুযী থাকবে।
تِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَنْ كَانَ تَقِيًّا
Such is the Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our slaves who have been Al-Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - See V.2:2).
এটা ঐ জান্নাত যার অধিকারী করব আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে পরহেযগারদেরকে।
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Lord (O Muhammad SAW). To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two, and your Lord is never forgetful,—
(জিব্রাইল বললঃ) আমি আপনার পালনকর্তার আদেশ ব্যতীত অবতরণ করি না, যা আমাদের সামনে আছে, যা আমাদের পশ্চাতে আছে এবং যা এ দুই-এর মধ্যস্থলে আছে, সবই তাঁর এবং আপনার পালনকর্তা বিস্মৃত হওয়ার নন।
رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship. Do you know of any who is similar to Him? (of course none is similar or coequal or comparable to Him, and He has none as partner with Him). [There is nothing like unto Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer].
তিনি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডলে এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবার পালনকর্তা। সুতরাং তাঁরই বন্দেগী করুন এবং তাতে দৃঢ় থাকুন আপনি কি তাঁর সমনাম কাউকে জানেন?
وَيَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَإِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
And man (the disbeliever) says: "When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"
মানুষ বলেঃ আমার মৃত্যু হলে পর আমি কি জীবিত অবস্থায় পুনরুত্থিত হব?
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْئًا
Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?
মানুষ কি স্মরণ করে না যে, আমি তাকে ইতি পূর্বে সৃষ্টি করেছি এবং সে তখন কিছুই ছিল না।
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَالشَّيَاطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا
So by your Lord, surely, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Shayâtin (devils) (with them), then We shall bring them round Hell on their knees.
সুতরাং আপনার পালনকর্তার কসম, আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে এবং শয়তানদেরকে একত্রে সমবেত করব, অতঃপর অবশ্যই তাদেরকে নতজানু অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের চারপাশে উপস্থিত করব।
ثُمَّ لَنَنْزِعَنَّ مِنْ كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا
Then indeed We shall drag out from every sect all those who were worst in obstinate rebellion against the Most Gracious (Allâh).
অতঃপর প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে যে দয়াময় আল্লাহর সর্বাধিক অবাধ্য আমি অবশ্যই তাকে পৃথক করে নেব।
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِالَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا
Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein.
অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে যারা জাহান্নামে প্রবেশের অধিক যোগ্য, আমি তাদের বিষয়ে ভালোভাবে জ্ঞাত আছি।
وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَقْضِيًّا
There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord; a Decree which must be accomplished
তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন কেউ নেই যে তথায় পৌছবে না। এটা আপনার পালনকর্তার অনিবার্য ফায়সালা।
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا
Then We shall save those who use to fear Allâh and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers) therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell).
অতঃপর আমি পরহেযগারদেরকে উদ্ধার করব এবং জালেমদেরকে সেখানে নতজানু অবস্থায় ছেড়ে দেব।
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers or disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)."
যখন তাদের কাছে আমার সুস্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ তেলাওয়াত করা হয়, তখন কাফেররা মুমিনদেরকে বলেঃ দুই দলের মধ্যে কোনটি মর্তবায় শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং কার মজলিস উত্তম?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا
And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance?
তাদের পূর্বে কত মানব গোষ্ঠীকে আমি বিনাশ করেছি, তারা তাদের চাইতে সম্পদে ও জাঁক-জমকে শ্রেষ্ঠ ছিল।
قُلْ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الضَّلَالَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا الْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا السَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُنْدًا
Say (O Muhammad SAW) whoever is in error, the Most Gracious (Allâh) will extend (the rope) to him, until, when they see that which they were promised, either the torment or the Hour, they will come to know who is worst in position, and who is weaker in forces. [This is the answer to the question in Verse No.19:73]
বলুন, যারা পথভ্রষ্টতায় আছে, দয়াময় আল্লাহ তাদেরকে যথেষ্ট অবকাশ দেবেন; এমনকি অবশেষে তারা প্রত্যক্ষ করবে যে বিষয়ে তাদেরকে ওয়াদা দেয়া হচ্ছে, তা আযাব হোক অথবা কেয়ামতই হোক। সুতরাং তখন তারা জানতে পারবে কে মর্তবায় নিকৃষ্ট ও দলবলে দূর্বল।
وَيَزِيدُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا هُدًى ۗ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَرَدًّا
And Allâh increases in guidance those who walk aright. And the righteous good deeds that last, are better with your Lord, for reward and better for resort.
যারা সৎপথে চলে আল্লাহ তাদের পথপ্রাপ্তি বৃদ্ধি করেন এবং স্থায়ী সৎকর্মসমূহ তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছে সওয়াবের দিক দিয়ে শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং প্রতিদান হিসেবেও শ্রেষ্ট।
أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
Have you seen him who disbelieved in Our Ayât (this Qur'ân and Muhammad SAW) and said: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children [if I will be alive (again)],"
আপনি কি তাকে লক্ষ্য করেছেন যে, আমার নিদর্শনাবলীতে বিশ্বাস করে না এবং বলেঃ আমাকে অর্থ-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততি অবশ্যই দেয়া হবে।
أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
Has he known the unseen or has he taken a covenant from the Most Gracious (Allâh)?
সে কি অদৃশ্য বিষয় জেনে ফেলেছে, অথবা দয়াময় আল্লাহর নিকট থেকে কোন প্রতিশ্রুতি প্রাপ্ত হয়েছে?
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall increase his torment (in the Hell);
না, এটা ঠিক নয়। সে যা বলে আমি তা লিখে রাখব এবং তার শাস্তি দীর্ঘায়িত করতে থাকব।
وَنَرِثُهُ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا
And We shall inherit from him (at his death) all that he talks of (i.e. wealth and children which We have bestowed upon him in this world), and he shall come to Us alone
সে যা বলে, মৃত্যুর পর আমি তা নিয়ে নেব এবং সে আমার কাছে আসবে একাকী।
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا
And they have taken (for worship) âlihah (gods) besides Allâh, that they might give them honour, power and glory (and also protect them from Allâh's Punishment).
তারা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অন্যান্য ইলাহ গ্রহণ করেছে, যাতে তারা তাদের জন্যে সাহায্যকারী হয়।
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
Nay, but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them (on the Day of Resurrection).
কখনই নয়, তারা তাদের এবাদত অস্বীকার করবে এবং তাদের বিপক্ষে চলে যাবে।
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا
See you not that We have sent the Shayâtin (devils) against the disbelievers to push them to do evil.
আপনি কি লক্ষ্য করেননি যে, আমি কাফেরদের উপর শয়তানদেরকে ছেড়ে দিয়েছি। তারা তাদেরকে বিশেষভাবে (মন্দকর্মে) উৎসাহিত করে।
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا
So make no haste against them; We only count out to them a (limited) number (of the days of the life of this world and delay their term so that they may increase in evil and sins).
সুতরাং তাদের ব্যাপারে আপনি তাড়াহুড়া করবেন না। আমি তো তাদের গণনা পূর্ণ করছি মাত্র।
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا
The Day We shall gather the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous Persons - see V.2:2) unto the Most Gracious (Allâh), like a delegatation (presented before a king for honour).
সেদিন দয়াময়ের কাছে পরহেযগারদেরকে অতিথিরূপে সমবেত করব,
وَنَسُوقُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا
And We shall drive the Mujrimûn (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water),
এবং অপরাধীদেরকে পিপাসার্ত অবস্থায় জাহান্নামের দিকে হাঁকিয়ে নিয়ে যাব।
لَا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Gracious (Allâh).
যে দয়াময় আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে প্রতিশ্রুতি গ্রহণ করেছে, সে ব্যতীত আর কেউ সুপারিশ করার অধিকারী হবে না।
وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا
And they say: "The Most Gracious (Allâh) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Īsā (Christ) A.S.], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]."
তারা বলেঃ দয়াময় আল্লাহ সন্তান গ্রহণ করেছেন।
لَقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا
Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing.
নিশ্চয় তোমরা তো এক অদ্ভুত কান্ড করেছ।
تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنْشَقُّ الْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins,
হয় তো এর কারণেই এখনই নভোমন্ডল ফেটে পড়বে, পৃথিবী খন্ড-বিখন্ড হবে এবং পর্বতমালা চূর্ণ-বিচুর্ণ হবে।
أَنْ دَعَوْا لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا
That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Gracious (Allâh).
এ কারণে যে, তারা দয়াময় আল্লাহর জন্যে সন্তান আহবান করে।
وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allâh) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children).
অথচ সন্তান গ্রহণ করা দয়াময়ের জন্য শোভনীয় নয়।
إِنْ كُلُّ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا آتِي الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا
There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allâh) as a slave.
নভোমন্ডল ও ভূ-মন্ডলে কেউ নেই যে, দয়াময় আল্লাহর কাছে দাস হয়ে উপস্থিত হবে না।
لَقَدْ أَحْصَاهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا
Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting.
তাঁর কাছে তাদের পরিসংখ্যান রয়েছে এবং তিনি তাদেরকে গণনা করে রেখেছেন।
وَكُلُّهُمْ آتِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرْدًا
And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender).
কেয়ামতের দিন তাদের সবাই তাঁর কাছে একাকী অবস্থায় আসবে।
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا
Verily, those who believe [in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW)] and work deeds of righteousness, the Most Gracious (Allâh) will bestow love for them (in the hearts of the believers).
যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন করে, তাদেরকে দয়াময় আল্লাহ ভালবাসা দেবেন।
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنْذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُدًّا
So We have made this (the Qur'ân) easy in your own tongue (O Muhammad SAW), only that you may give glad tidings to the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - See V.2:2), and warn with it the Luda (most quarrelsome) people.
আমি কোরআনকে আপনার ভাষায় সহজ করে দিয়েছি, যাতে আপনি এর দ্বারা পরহেযগারদেরকে সুসংবাদ দেন এবং কলহকারী সম্প্রদায়কে সতর্ক করেন।
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًا
And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Can you (O Muhammad SAW) find a single one of them or hear even a whisper of them?
তাদের পূর্বে আমি কত মানবগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি। আপনি কি তাদের কাহারও সাড়া পান, অথবা তাদের ক্ষীনতম আওয়ায ও শুনতে পান?
